Health Spotlight: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
It is estimated that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lives. Many women with breast cancer do not have a family history. We cannot predict who will develop cancer, but we know that healthy living decreases the risk. Early detection saves lives. It is important that you talk you your health care provider to see which screening study is appropriate for you.
Depending on your risk factors, screening exams may start well before your forties. Most women will be advised to get a mammogram beginning at the age of forty. Your body is God's temple. Let it serve as a witness for Him.
